Arab League Boycott of Israel: Morocco's Position
According to information received from local contacts, Morocco whilst not having officially lifted the boycott of Israel, adheres only to the primary boycott prohibiting member states from engaging in direct trade with Israel is being enforced. For example, the following are not allowed to call Morocco
- Vessels of Israeli flag / registry.
- Israeli owned, operated and/or managed vessels.
- Vessels carrying Israeli cargo.
However, Israeli passport holders are free to enter provided they have a valid visa.
The secondary boycott prohibiting trade with companies trading with Israel and the tertiary boycott prohibiting contact with companies trading with blacklisted companies no longer appear to be enforced.
In addition to Morocco's position on the Arab League Boycott of Israel, Moroccan authorities prohibit any vessel carrying radio active cargo from entering Moroccan ports/waters without first obtaining special permission from the relevant Port Authority.
