Nigel Cooper QC has been a barrister since 1987 and appointed as Queen’s Counsel in 2010. He has an established commercial practice predominantly in the fields of shipping, international trade, energy, insurance and international arbitration. Nigel’s practice in the fields of shipping and international trade includes all aspects of the sale and carriage of goods and other commodities; financing, fraud, charter party disputes, brokerage, ship management, shipbuilding, superyachts and off-shore construction, sale and purchase, safe ports, limitation and collision actions. His energy sector work covers both upstream and downstream aspects of the industry as well as other parts of the offshore industry. His insurance & reinsurance practice extends to policy disputes in both the non-marine and marine sectors (including mutual insurance).
