To mark the International Day of the Seafarer we are holding this 15+15 webinar to shed light on that psychological safety can reduce risks and accidents in the shipping industry. Charles Watkins, CEO and Maritime Clinical Psychologist at Mental Health Support Solutions will touch upon psychological safety linking it to the reduction of risk and accidents. Leadership and a blame-free environment can improve recognition of potential dangers before they occur. Elements of psychological safety, like caring and transparency, can improve safety culture.

IMSBC Code group C cargoes

A Group C cargo is a cargo which is neither classified as group A nor group B. Note : Group A cargoes which possess a hazard due to moisture that may result in liquefaction or dynamic separation if shipped at a moisture content in excess of their transportable moisture limit. Group B cargoes are those which possess a chemical hazard that could give rise to a dangerous situation on a ship.

Testing of solid bulk cargoes for corrosivity - IMO issues final guidance

BIMCO providing guidance on the corrosivity test that is applied to solid bulk cargoes under the International Maritime Solid Bulk Cargoes ( IMSBC) Code. This is for testing of solid bulk cargoes as corrosive solids under the hazard classification of materials that are hazardous when transported in bulk (MHB).

IMDG Code criteria for use of data loggers sensors and cargo trackers during transport

New criteria for tracking and monitoring equipment used in transport of dangerous goods under the International Maritime Dangerous Goods ( IMDG) Code were finalised at the International Maritime Organization (IMO)'s Sub-Committee for the Carriage of Cargoes and Containers (CCC) at their 8th meeting held from 14 to 23 September 2022. A transitional phase for implementation was also introduced.
