Contract of Carriage versus Contracts for Carriage: GENCON and CONGENBILL revisited
BIMCO’s Documentary Committee has discussed and approved a proposal to re-write GENCON’s Clause 2, which deals with owners’ liabilities. It is part of a major overhaul of the industry’s most widely used standard voyage charter party.
BIMCO’s Documentary Committee has approved two clauses and one contract for publication: The much-awaited Emissions Trading System Allowances (ETSA) Clause for Time Charter Parties 2022, the Infectious or Contagious Diseases (IOCD) Clause for Time Charter Parties 2022 and a revised version of GENCON.
Last week, BIMCO conducted three highly successful seminars on BIMCO’s recent GENCON 2022 voyage charter party for the dry bulk trade. The seminars , which took place Singapore, Seoul and Tokyo, were all very well attended with great engagement from a lively audience interested to know about BIMCO’s flagship contract in the dry bulk trade when it comes to voyage chartering. Almost 100 people attended the seminars in each of the three shipping centres.
