Updates to BIMCO and IBIA’s bunkering guide

Overview

One of BIMCO & IBIA’s most popular pamphlets has been updated and can be downloaded free of charge.

The loading of bunker on board a ship is a vital and critical operation. Due care must be taken to ensure safety and to mitigate the risk for oil pollution. The purpose of this pamphlet is to have an easy at hand guidance to help seafarers involved in bunkering operations to act in compliance with the appropriate regulations and industry best practices. The guide aims to provide general information, advice and guidance.

In addition to a general update on different fuel types and actual regulation, the new version of the pamphlet also expands on fuel oil sampling and bunker delivering notes.

Download the guidance and put it on the bridge and engine control on your ship.

Should you need hard copies of the pamphlet please contact Lars Gullaksen, Manager Maritime technology & Regulation.
