SHIPLEASE points to SHIPSALE 22

BIMCO’s standard term sheet for use in ship sale and leaseback transactions, SHIPLEASE, has been updated to refer to the new Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for ship sale and purchase, SHIPSALE 22.

BIMCO’s standard term sheet for use in ship sale and leaseback transactions, SHIPLEASE, has been updated to refer to the new Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for ship sale and purchase, SHIPSALE 22. 

SHIPLEASE, in Clause 2 (Transaction Documents), specifies that the seller and lessor will enter into a MOA and a bareboat charter. When SHIPLEASE was adopted in September 2020, it was agreed that the standard should refer to the new MOA when it was published. Clause 2, therefore, now refers to a MOA and a bareboat charter based, respectively, on SHIPSALE 22 and BARECON 2017.

SHIPLEASE, SHIPSALE 22 and BARECON 2017 are all available for use on SmartCon and SmartCon Online and are accompanied by explanatory notes.
