BIMCO provides weekly updates to members about COVID-19 implementation measures imposed by governments for sea transport, including for crew change, as well as updates from United Nations bodies such as the International Maritime Organization (IMO), World Health Organization (WHO) and International Labour Organization (ILO). As part of its offering to members, BIMCO has updated and expanded its online database on ice information. Foremost, the web-resource reflects the recently amended Polar Code and the subsequently revised national rules, which regulates navigation in arctic waters.
In a landmark decision, BIMCO cemented its move into the domain of ship financing with the Documentary Committee’s approval of a standard term sheet for use in ship financing transactions on 17 November 2016.
