Dunite

Description

A natural grey mineral, obtained through the processes of blasting, crushing and screening. Odourless. Uses: in manufacturing process of metallurgical products, as an abrasive material, as a ballast material and for environmental applications. Bulk density: 1,300 to 1,500 kg/m3.

 

Non-IMSBC Code information: (1) typical applications of this cargo material: metallurgic conditioner, blasting abrasive, EBT aggregates, refractories, foundry sand, coating material to be used on land, aggregate for ceramic materials and fertilizer’s product components. (2) contains less than 4% moisture.

Trade Names (Synonyms)
Granular Dunite, Magnesium silicate, Serpentine. Trade names shown here are based on IMO document E&T 36/inf.3 dated 19 January 2022 that were used at that time:  Pasektap, Pasekflux, PasekSlagdoor.
