Copper slag

Description
A residual granular or lump product that is black or red-brown in colour and generated from copper smelting process. Highly permeable so pore water of this cargo drains quickly. Bulk density: 1,500 - 2,500 kg/m3. Non-IMSBC Code information: used as aggregate for civil engineering and construction. Main components of this slag material are compounds of iron oxide, silica, alumina and calcium oxide and very small amounts of microelements. Substances harmful to the environment like sulphur, arsenic and copper for example are not detected in this cargo. However, they may exist but less than the permitted values allowed for the environment.
