BIMCO has produced its own ship sale and purchase agreement - SHIPSALE 22 – with the aim of making the authoring, negotiation and execution process faster and simpler, and to provide the market with a modern and comprehensive alternative to existing sale and purchase forms.
BIMCO and FONASBA, the worldwide organisation representing shipbrokers and ship agents, have once again joined forces to create and launch a new general agency agreement for port agents, shipowners and ship operators contracting port agency services.
The agency appointment agreement provides a set of standard provisions for appointing an agent for a one-off port call. The agreement is concluded between the agent and a shipowner, ship operator, charterer or manager, and it sets out the services to be performed and the remuneration to be paid. This contract was published 9 January 2017 and is the latest edition. Copyright in the Agency Appointment Agreement is held by FONASBA. The publishers are BIMCO and FONASBA.
