Recorded webinar: Blue Visby for Beginners

Published: 05 October 2023

The Blue Visby Solution is a much talked about optimisation concept for reducing emissions from groups of ships heading for the same port. It avoids the complications of conventional Just in Time Arrivals schemes by excluding the “last mile” and operating from pilot station to pilot station. And it differs from traditional Virtual Arrival by introducing a multilateral element to the contractual architecture.

But how will the BV scheme work in practice? What are the operational and contractual elements? What sort of “real world” savings in fuel and emissions can it offer? What trades are best suited to its use? How is the project progressing and when will it be available?

All these questions and more were discussed by Haris Zografakis, partner at Stephenson Harwood and co-ordinator of the Blue Visby Consortium, and BIMCO’s Grant Hunter, Director of Standards, Innovation, and Research, in the illuminating webinar below.

The webinar was held on 4 October 2023.
