Documentary Committee approves new SUPPLYTIME

The spring meeting of the Documentary Committee, chaired by Francis Sarre, was held in Rome on 6 June. The sixty-strong committee discussed an extensive and diverse range of documentary projects and approved for publication three new contracts and one clause.

A newly set-up BIMCO drafting team involving a cross-section of shipowners, charterers, financing and leasing institutions and private practice lawyers from Asia, Europe and the US began work this week to develop a standard letter of quiet enjoyment (LQE) for use in long term charter and leasing structure financings.

Douglas Shoemaker is a Partner of BLANKROME Houston, and member of the Maritime Emergency Response Team (“MERT”). Douglas focuses his practice on complex maritime transactions and litigation. He has over 25 years’ experience advising clients on a wide range maritime law topics, including charter party negotiation and drafting, arbitration, vessel construction and flagging, purchase and sale, and mergers and acquisitions, personal injury, property damage, pollution, onboard investigations, navigational error, Jones Act, stevedoring accidents, cargo damage defense, and general average.
