The BIMCO Liquid Cargo database is intended for use by for shore-side staff and to some extent for newcomers on board tankers and should only be used as a reference tool providing brief information regarding the about 310 of the commonly transported liquid cargoes including Qua Iboe crude oil .

IMO has approved short-term GHG reduction measures

The 75th session of the Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC 75), which took place online from 16 to 20 November 2020, continued the deliberations on reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from shipping, but also adopted amendments to MARPOL Annex VI and the International Ballast Water Management Convention (BWM Convention).

CIMAC Guideline: The Interpretation of Marine Fuel Analysis Test Results

This guideline follows on from the CIMAC WG7 guideline No 09:2014 which set out the differences between the ISO 4259 approach and that adopted under MARPOL Annex VI in respect of fuel sulphur content test results. However, it is important to understand that this ISO 4259 approach is also applied generally to the interpretation of all marine fuel analysis test results.

New COAs for dry bulk trade published

IMO publishes guidelines to port State control for on board fuel oil sampling

The 75th session of International Maritime Organization’s (IMO) Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC 75) has in November 2020 adopted amendments to MARPOL Annex VI, introducing a method for fuel oil sampling from ships' fuel oil tanks to verify the sulphur content. The new amendments will enter into force on 1 April 2022.
