Flemming is Senior Security Advisor at Dampskibsselskabet NORDEN A/S. He joined NORDEN in 2010 as a Marine Superintendent. Before joining the company, he worked for A. P. Møller- Mærsk for 23 years in various roles, including as an officer and Master, and has held various managerial positions ashore. In addition, Jensen is Chairman of the ECSA Maritime Security Working Group, Vice chairperson at BIMCO’s Safety and Security Committee, is a member of the Danish Shipowners’ Association’s Security Working Group, Informal CSO Forum (Denmark) and Informal Shipowners Security Forum in the United Kingdom.

For the benefit of its members, BIMCO has made a series of agreements with 15 national customs authorities (Belgium, Canada, Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, the United Kingdom and the United States)- Customs Co-operation Agreements (CCAs)- as a means of mitigating delays and costs resulting from the discovery of drugs aboard a member vessel.

The main exporters of thermal coal for coal- fired power plants to the United Kingdom (UK) have experienced a heavy decline in seaborne cargo volumes in 2016. This comes as a result of the UK starting a concerning trend for the dry bulk shipping industry, by close to doubling its Carbon Price Floor (CPF).
