Commodity Trading & Chartering Masterclass Online is a series of 10 online sessions delivered over 5 days. Each day will run for 2x75 minutes with a short break in between. The course will examine commodity trading as a whole and discuss international contracts of sea carriage, which are heavily influenced by sale contracts.

SmartCon update adds electronic signature solution

BIMCO has updated its contract editing tool, SmartCon, with a new feature that enables users to add electronic signatures to their finalised contracts using DocuSign™ and thereby save time and money compared to relying on couriers to obtain physical signatures on paper copies.

Sierra Leone to implement IMO 2020 penalties for non-compliant fuel

From 1 September 2021, ship owners and operators calling at ports in Sierra Leone risk penalties of up to USD 15,000 if they carry fuel with a sulphur content exceeding 0.5 percent. Ships or members experiencing problems related to enforcement of MARPOL Annex V or unavailability of compliant fuel are encouraged to inform BIMCO via email hsse@bimco.org with “IMO 2020” in the subject field.

Force Majeure Clause 2022
