The drafting team tasked with the revision of BIMCO’s suite of ship management and related third-party management agreements met in London last week to continue discussions on the revision of SHIPMAN, the widely used standard ship management agreement last updated in 2009. The draft is now ready for a first review by BIMCO’s Documentary Committee when it meets in April.
The new BIMCO Bunker Terms 2018 that were approved by the Documentary Committee last week in New York have now been published. Sample copies of the BIMCO Bunker Terms 2018 together with comprehensive explanatory notes are available from BIMCO’s website. The subcommittee tasked with the revision of BIMCO’s suite of third party management contracts continues its work to develop a standard Emission Trading Scheme Allowances (ETSA) Clause for use with the popular ship management agreement SHIPMAN. The aim is to present a draft standalone clause for possible adoption by BIMCO’s Documentary Committee when it meets next in Copenhagen on 11 October.
The revision of the SUPPLYTIME 2005 charter party, BIMCO’s specialised offshore support vessel contract, is close to completion.

SEV-GUARDCON is a standard contract for security escort vessels (SEVs) that accompany merchant ships in high threat areas such as the Gulf of Guinea . It has been drafted to enable for cross-border transits where an SEV is needed to accompany the owners ’ vessel through the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) or territorial waters of more than one state.
