This BIMCO COVID 19 weekly report for the week ending 19 August 2022 covers the International Maritime Organization (IMO) including crew change national contact point, Fiji, Poland, Ukraine, and the latest from the World Health Organization (WHO) and the International Labour Organization (ILO). Every week, BIMCO summarises measures imposed by governments for sea transport, including for crew change, as well as updates from United Nations bodies such as the IMO, WHO, ILO and the Port State Control MoU regimes.

IMO: Carriage of Cargoes and Containers - cargoes that may liquefy

BIMCO representatives from the Maritime Information Department have attended the 5th session of the International Maritime Organization’s (IMO) Sub-Committee on Carriage of Cargoes and Containers (CCC 5), held at the IMO London headquarters from 10 to 14 September 2018.

IBC and MARPOL Annex II changes require preparations ahead of 1 January 2021

Amendments to the International Code for the Construction and Equipment of Ships Carrying Dangerous Chemicals in Bulk (IBC Code) and International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution From Ships, 1973 as modified by the Protocol of 1978 (MARPOL) Annex II - Carriage of noxious liquid substances in bulk, will impact all stakeholders in the chemical and Vegetable oils trade. As the amendments enter into force on 1 January 2021, It is recommended that ships replace existing certificates as soon as possible, to make sure the vessels are operational come 1 January.
