Its white, brown or pink granular crystals.  Odourless and hygroscopic.  Bulk density: 971-1,299 kg/m3. Non-IMSBC Code information: has alkaline taste and soluble in water but not in alcohol and acetone. Used in the manufacture of fertilisers, soaps, TV tubes, printing inks, and as general-purpose food additive.
