Description
|
This is the fibre of a plant grown annually in India and Bangladesh. It grows in water and the fibre is removed by stripping it during the softening of the whole plant in shallow running water and then is often wet when baled. Sometimes stored if packed in areas exposed to monsoon rain. Uses: manufacture of hessian, gunnies, carpet and cordage.
