Clam shell


NOTE: This schedule applies only to WHOLE CLAM SHELLS

A by-product that is generated in the clam farming process. A solid, natural dark grey to beige material that is granular in form. Not soluble. Bulk density: 1,056 kg/m3.  Non-IMSBC Code information: these products are collected from clams buried in sandy and muddy grounds using hydraulic dredges and hackles, occasionally with bottom trawls and separating the shells from the meat in the processing facilities. Used for zootechnical purpose, in animal farming as fertiliser. It is also a natural coaster ground-cover used mainly as a decorative cover on top of garden paths to detail or protect a surface ( ref: CCC 6/inf.3).
