Description
|
IMSBC Code description: white (light coloured), moist and fine powder which is odourless. Insoluble in water and organic liquids. Bulk density: 500-1,500 kg/m3. Non-IMSBC Code information: derived from bauxite, a natural aluminium-bearing mineral ore, in which the aluminium occurs as hydrated oxides. Soluble in mineral acids (inorganic acids) and caustic soda. Used in glass, ceramics, iron-free aluminium and aluminium salts, base for organic lakes and flame retardants and manufacture of activated alumina.
