The Carrier shall be entitled to limit his liability in damages for loss or damage to or in connection with transportation of goods,
a) where U.S. Law applies, to US $ 500 per package or other customary freight Unit,
b) where any other law applies, to its package or unit limitation,
- unless a declaration of the nature and a higher value of the goods has been inserted in the fill-in space on the face hereof, in which case additional (ad valorem) freight is payable under the freight tariff.
Such declaration shall be prima facie evidence, but shall not be binding on the Carrier.
