The BIMCO Maritime Security Symposium 2026 will take place at BIMCO House in Copenhagen.
There will be an evening reception on 21 September followed by the full-day symposium on 22 September.
BIMCO is pleased to announce the opening of registration for the BIMCO Maritime Security Symposium bringing together maritime professionals, security experts, policymakers, analysts, legal specialists and industry leaders to discuss the issues shaping the future operating environment for shipping. Attendance is free of charge.
Programme
The programme will kick off with a dinner reception on 21 September in the evening followed by a full-day Symposium on 22 September including buffet lunch.
The event will provide a unique forum for examining how geopolitical developments, evolving security threats and changing economic realities are influencing global trade and maritime commerce and operations. Drawing on perspectives from industry, academia, international organisations and government representatives, the programme will explore the strategic trends that shipowners and operators need to understand in an increasingly complex world.
The programme will combine strategic discussions with practical case studies. A dedicated Strait of Hormuz session will examine current regional risks, intelligence assessments, commercial and legal implications for shipowners. In addition, attendees will benefit from focused sessions on drug smuggling and piracy.
Venue
Hosted in beautiful BIMCO House in the Copenhagen suburbs, the event will accommodate approximately 80 participants.
Accommodation
Accommodation is at attendees’ own cost. A limited number of rooms have been reserved at a favourable rate of 1490 DKK at Hotel Copenhagen Island in the city of Copenhagen. BIMCO members will be given priority during the selection process. We encourage interested participants to register early and look forward to welcoming the maritime community for what promises to be a highly relevant and thought-provoking event.
