The mining companies are BHP, Rio Tinto Valley and Anglo American. All four are members of the MMDF, the Metals and Mining Digitalization Forum, which is a working group that has been formed to advocate for the digitalisation of the metals and mining supply chain.

Its aim was for at least 25% of their annual seaborne trade volume for at least one commodity to use electronic bills of lading by the end of 2025.
