This article reflects the collective views and professional experience of five industry experts representing different segments of the maritime and offshore sectors.
Together, the contributors bring perspectives from across the maritime value chain, highlighting the importance of openness, shared learning and practical readiness in navigating the net-zero transition. Their combined experience reflects both the diversity of challenges faced by different sectors and the shared responsibility for delivering a safe, credible and sustainable transition.
The discussion that informed this article took place during a dedicated panel session in December 2025 organised by WISTA Hellas, hosted at the ABS Hellenic Safety Center and moderated by BIMCO. The exchange was characterised by technical depth, openness and a non-political focus on collaboration, readiness and practical implementation.
