The 2018 edition of the BIMCO’s bunker contract is the result of a thorough process involving buyers, traders and suppliers as well as legal and insurance experts. Their objective was the creation of a standard agreement designed to gain the widest possible adoption by the industry by offering a fair and viable alternative to supplier’s own terms and conditions.
This booklet includes a sample copy of the BUNKER TERMS 2018 contract and the related explanatory notes in the latest version. The explanatory notes provide some background to the thinking behind the BIMCO contract.
