New gas charter party hits the mark in busy market environment

ASBAGASVOY, the new voyage charter party for gas tankers developed jointly by BIMCO and the Association of Ship Brokers & Agents (U.S.A.), Inc. (ASBA) has seen a rapid uptake after its release to the market in September 2020. Christian Hoppe, BIMCO’s General Counsel, has talked to BW LPG, Petredec and Clarksons about why ASGABASVOY was their preferred choice of charter party in a recent LPG fixture.

Revised Charter Party Guarantee adopted by Documentary Committee

At its meeting in Copenhagen on 16 November, BIMCO’s Documentary Committee adopted a revised version of its standard Charter Party Guarantee. The Charter Party Guarantee 2022 is an up-to-date, clearly worded and comprehensive time charterers’ guarantee for all sums payable and liabilities under a time charter party.

ASBAGASVOY charter party near completion

The subcommittee set up by BIMCO and the Association of Ship Brokers & Agents (U.S.A.), Inc. (ASBA) to develop a new gas tanker voyage charter party (ASBAGASVOY) has agreed on a final draft which will be presented for adoption by the BIMCO Documentary Committee at its next meeting on 22 September.
