Brazilian soya bean exports are up 85.2% in the first two months of 2019, compared to the same period in 2018. This comes on the back of record high exports in 2018 of 83.6 million tonnes, a 22.7% increase from 2017.

Agenda issues included the importance of maintaining legislation in line with treaty law provisions, difficulties occasionally encountered with non-International Group insurers, the Funds’ current compensation cases and a report on developments with the HNS Convention.
Although the 25% tariff on Chinese imports of US soya beans was implemented on 6 July 2018, its effects have only really started to show since the start of the fourth quarter.
