BIMCO gets enquiries often in relation to the classification group and carriage requirements of solid bulk cargoes that are not listed in the International Maritime Solid Bulk Cargoes ( IMSBC) Code. BIMCO provides guidance and the course of action required in such cases leading up to having the cargo listed in the IMSBC Code.
BIMCO representatives from the Maritime Information Department have attended the 5th session of the International Maritime Organization’s (IMO) Sub-Committee on Carriage of Cargoes and Containers (CCC 5), held at the IMO London headquarters from 10 to 14 September 2018.
The cargo information and declaration form for the use of cargoes under the International Maritime Solid Bulk Cargoes (IMSBC) Code has been revised to align with certain SOLAS regulations.
