Providing the significant changes under the Amendment 39-18, 2020 edition to the IMDG Code.
The IMDG Code, Amendment 39-18, 2018 edition, published by the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) is mandatory from 1 January 2020 and applicable for two years until the next edition of the IMDG Code becomes mandatory from 2022. The IMDG Code Supplement, 2018 edition, containing several related texts such as the EmS Guide and MFAG, replaces the previous 2014 edition.

Amendment 39-18 will be incorporated into the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code (IMDG), 2018 Edition, and come into force on 1 January 2020.
The IMDG Code 2016 Edition enters into force 1 January 2018 for two years. Please note that the The IMDG Code Supplement, 2014 Edition remains valid until further notice.
