ASVTIME

ASVTIME is a time charter party for accommodation support vessels (ASVs) engaged in the offshore oil and gas and renewables sectors. The charter party is based on SUPPLYTIME 2017 and operates on a knock for knock liability regime, which means that each party agrees to bear responsibility for and indemnify the other in respect of loss of or damage to their own property, and injury to or death of their own personnel, regardless of fault. ASVTIME incorporates several features from WINDTIME, including a contractual limitation of liability. Tailormade provisions have been introduced catering for the specificities of the ASV sector, such as provisions dealing with optional equipment, parallel operations and offshore bunkering of crew transfer vessels. The latest edition of this contract is ASVTIME, issued in 2021.  Copyright in ASVTIME is held by BIMCO.

LNGVOY

LNGVOY is a voyage charter party for the carriage of liquefied natural gas. Copyright in this document is held jointly by BIMCO and GIIGNL (International Group of Liquefied Natural Gas Importers). The latest edition of this contract is LNGVOY, issued in 2016.

Stephen Mackin

Stephen Mackin is a lawyer at the international law firm Clyde & Co and he specialises in shipping and energy related issues particularly those arising from the carriage of oil and gas by sea. Stephen qualified in 1994 and was with Eversheds Sutherland for 25 years before joining Clyde & Co. He speaks regularly at conferences worldwide. He has spent five years with Shell Tankers (UK) Limited and has practical experience of the operation of VLCC’s, product tankers, LNG tankers and bulk carriers. He was Shell’s “cadet of the year”, a watch-keeping officer with Operation Raleigh and has sailed the Atlantic on a Tall Ship. He is regarded by Chambers Directory as a “leader in his field” and described as being the person you want on your side when you have a dispute.

Ashok Srinivasan

Ashok is Manager, Maritime Technology and Regulation at BIMCO and is responsible for coordinating BIMCO’s initiatives on a variety of technical, operational and regulation related matters. He represents BIMCO at international organisations such as International Maritime Organization(IMO), International Association of Classification Societies(IACS) on aforementioned matters. He is educated as a master mariner, dynamic positioning officer, and marine lead auditor. He also holds an MBA (Master of Business Administration) from Copenhagen Business School. He is an experienced seafarer with 18 years of experience in the maritime sector. He started his career with A.P.Moller Maersk and has sailed on a variety of ships including containers, car carriers, oil tankers (crude and product), gas tankers (LPG and LNG) in the maritime shipping (13 years) and platform supply vessels & cable layers in the offshore sector (3years). Ashok has also been a visiting faculty at the marine colleges in India, where he taught navigation, safety and cargo related courses to budding seafarers. He is certified as a lead auditor and integrated marine auditor by LRQA (Lloyds register quality assurance). He has conducted quality, safety and security audits on several ship types and helped prepare ships for external class audits (ISM, ISPS and MLC audits), and industry vetting inspections such as OCIMF-SIRE, CDI inspections.

Tom is a partner at Stephenson Harwood LLP, London. He is a shipping and energy specialist with expertise in dispute resolution and negotiating contracts relating to offshore construction, shipbuilding, and floating production. He advises offshore contractors, owners and charterers under their charters and services contracts for offshore oil & gas and wind projects. Tom has presented for IBC in relation to FPSO contracts covering design risk, variations, topside integration, and commissioning issues, and edited the leading textbook Offshore Construction: Law & Practice (Published by Informa law for Routledge). He has presented for BIMCO and Lloyds Maritime Academy on the SUPPLYTIME forms since 2012.

Christian Baekmark Schiolborg

Christian Bækmark Schiolborg is Manager, Maritime Technology and Regulation at BIMCO. He is responsible for analysing regulatory developments, mainly on the issues of IMO 2020 sulphur cap, fuel safety and reduction of greenhouse gases from ships. Furthermore, he represents BIMCO at international organisations such as the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) on aforementioned matters. Christian is educated as dual officer (deck officer and marine engineer) and has sailed on container ships and offshore vessels. Before joining BIMCO, he worked 6 years with the Danish Maritime Authority. Here he began as ship surveyor, became port state control officer and ended as special adviser in technical regulation in the department for maritime regulations and legal affairs, where he represented Denmark in IMO on different technical issues and was Head of the Danish delegation in the Sub-committee on Ship Systems and Equipment. 

Jessica Maitra

Jessica is a Partner in Clyde & Co’s Marine and International Trade department. She has an international practice with an emphasis on shipping, trade and insurance work. Jessica is an experienced BIMCO trianer. At the BIMCO courses, she is drawing on her significant experiences advising clients on both commercial and contentious matters. From a disputes perspective she works on cases in the English Courts and in LMAA and other arbitrations. She also advises on contracts and transactions in the marine and insurance sectors. Jessica regularly advises on disputes and commercial aspects of shipping contracts, including charterparties, bills of lading, shipbuilding contracts and ship management agreements. Jessica has a wealth of experience in cases concerning liquid, gas and dry cargoes, but has particular experience of energy shipping and tanker contracts and claims. Elinor Dautlich

Elinor is Partner at HFW and heads the global finance team.  She represents shipowners, operators, shipyards, designers and banks across the cruise, commercial shipping, yachts and business jets, LNG and offshore sectors. Elinor advises on all types of commercial shipping contracts including second-hand sale and purchase, shipbuilding contracts, EPC and EPCI contracts, ship recycling, ship registration, charterparties, pooling agreements, management agreements, seismic-related contracts, shares sale and purchase and joint venture agreements as well as on ship and aviation finance, leasing, seller's credits and other forms of capital raising. She also advises on contracts for the design, construction, purchase and operation of yachts and business jets. Elinor is part of the firm's LNG group, which has been responsible for drafting some of the first long-term LNG vessel charters and has, over the years, built up extensive experience of LNG time charters and related agreements, including joint venture arrangements, for some of the major LNG projects around the world. The group deals with all modern LNG time voyage and other specific charters, gas supply / offtake and LNG sale and purchase agreements, financing agreements, insurance issues, FLNG, FSRU projects and the construction and operation of LNG ports and terminals. Elinor has particular experience in the drafting of LNG charters and the ShellLNGTime form. Elinor has been advising on piracy related contracts since 2009, including contracts for the provision of private security services and, more recently, cyber security services and insurance. She sits on BIMCO's drafting sub-committees for GUARDCON and the new cyber security clauses.  Elinor lectures on commercial shipping matters, and in particular on shipbuilding and offshore construction topics, security in shipping and yachting, FPSO charters, LNG charters and FSRU contracts and related insurance issues. Elinor is recommended by the Legal 500 UK and Chambers directories. She co-leads the firm's travel and leisure group. Olivia Watkins oversees the Cargo valuation department of the analyst team. Olivia works closely with the Analyst, Research and Development departments of VesselsValue helping to expand the number of vessel types covered and the development and maintenance of new and existing products. Based in London, Olivia is in the middle of market information and intelligence, analysing the S&P, NB and demolition market for Bulkers, Tankers, Containers and Gas.  Prior to joining VesselsValue as a Cargo analyst, Olivia attended Southampton University graduating with a BSc in Oceanography.
