Cargoes not listed in the IMSBC Code

BIMCO gets enquiries often in relation to the classification group and carriage requirements of solid bulk cargoes that are not listed in the International Maritime Solid Bulk Cargoes ( IMSBC) Code. BIMCO provides guidance and the course of action required in such cases leading up to having the cargo listed in the IMSBC Code.

What to expect in the upcoming second meeting of the BIMCO Dry Bulk Cargo Network

The BIMCO Dry Bulk Cargo Network had its first successful meeting early this year. With issues ranging from the use of proper cargo names and identifying dangerous goods to the shipment of UN 3077 cargoes under the International Maritime Solid Bulk Cargoes (IMSBC) Code, the second meeting promises to be even more engaging for owner members.

BIMCO Liquid Cargo Database updated

BIMCO has contributed to a discussion at the IMO to change the definition of Group A cargoes that may liquefy, after new research on liquefaction of bauxite cargoes concluded that dynamic separation can also affect cargo stability in addition to liquefaction.
