Seminar: Behind the scenes of BIMCO’s Contracts and Clauses - Singapore Maritime Week

The session will provide you with an insight to BIMCO’s world of standard contracts of clauses. How does BIMCO’s documentary machinery function; how does BIMCO process its contracts and clauses, who is involved and how can YOU get involved. This will all be illustrated through a live example of a clause that BIMCO published for industry use last year. The session will also touch upon some of the politics involved in developing standard clauses for a cross section of the shipping industry worldwide and it will provide the audience with an overview of the contracts and clauses currently in the making and those in the pipeline.

Electronic Signature Clause 2021

The purpose of the Electronic Signature Clause 2021 is to enable the parties to a contract to sign the contract, and any documents to be signed in connection with it, electronically. The clause can be used in any type of contract.

First ever standard contract for autonomous ship operation underway

BIMCO is adapting the currently used SHIPMAN 2009 agreement for use with autonomous ships, but the lack of actual autonomous ships currently in operation will mean ongoing adjustments as the industry forges ahead with its pioneering projects. Publication of the first version is expected in 2021.
