Shipping KPIs monthly news August 2018


BIMCO Shipping KPI presentation event was successfully held in eight countries around the world with a total of 321 attendees. The series of presentation events started in February 2018 in Limassol, Cyprus and most recently in late July in Hong Kong, China. Going along with the presentation event,  a number of in-house company visits   conducting BIMCO Shipping KPI presentations and live demonstration have been held. A total of 18 in-house visits with  more than 200 attendees for the the live demonstrations of the  Shipping KPI system followed by  Q&A sessions have been held.. Information about  future Shipping KPI events and the associated registration procedures will be announced on the BIMCO website and invitations will be sent to local shipowners and managers.

About Shipping KPI system – Tips for benchmarking

Benchmarking KPI value between your own ships and the? Shipping KPI database requires data input. To make the data available right after input requires the user to untick the “Draft” checkbox as show below:

These steps should be followed to complete the process:

  1. Go to the “My Ships” section
  2. Click “Add Ship” or “Import” to enter ship data into the Shipping KPI database
  3. Click the new added ship and it will show “View performance data” as shown above 
  4. Choose each tab to enter PI value
  5. Untick the “Draft” checkbox on the left toolbar
  6. Select “Submit” located below the “View Performance Data” board to send the entered PI value to the database
  7. Go to the “Benchmarking” section to start benchmarking with other ships in the Shipping KPI database
