BIMCO relaunched Shipping KPI after two years of redesign. We’ve redefined KPI’s, PI’s, SPI’s and ship attributes to conform with industry standards. We’ve also made the tool more user-friendly and improved the validity of the data for example by removing invalid IMO-numbers from the database.
The BIMCO Shipping KPI relaunch events in Cyprus and Copenhagen were successful and attended by current and potential users of the Shipping KPI system.
We hope the new features, and the increased communication about Shipping KPI, will bring in a lot of new users and make the system even more robust and valuable to all users. The goal is to have more than 10,000 ships in the database.
Forthcoming KPI launch event is to be held in London Wednesday 21/3. The event is free but requires registration.
There will be more KPI launch events and KPI system demonstrations in several locations in Europe and Asia throughout the year. Information about these future events and registration will be announced on the BIMCO homepage and local owners and managers will receive invitations directly.
On April 1 the changes will be implemented to the system.
The shipping KPI standards were updated and revised. You should still report the results for 2017 in version 2.6. If you are interested in the new format, you can select version 3.0, as shown below:
For 2018, you should report in version 3.0. You need to familiarise yourself with the new version, as there are many differences between version 2.6 and 3.0. This includes the definition of KPIs, PIs, SPIs and ship attributes.
This KPI expresses the ratio between health and safety related deficiencies (raised during external inspections and audits) and the total number of recorded external inspections and audits. External audits include non-conformities but exclude observations.
PI034 | Number of health and safety related deficiencies | = 3 |
PI052 | Number of recorded external inspections |
= 2 |
KPI Value | Health and Safety deficiencies | = 1.5 |
