Shipping KPIs monthly news February 2018

On 26 February 2018, the BIMCO Shipping KPI  be relaunched and a number of updates and revisions will be released. Please note that from 2 April 2018, it will be possible to report under the new revised system for the first quarter of 2018.

The changes in the Shipping KPI system include; updated KPI standards that include the revised SPIs, KPIs, PIs and ship attributes; and the KPI profiles’ feature will have a sector-specific area for easier reporting in the Shipping KPI system.

As mentioned in last month’s KPI news, the single sign on via the BIMCO homepage has been implemented. To improve security in the Shipping KPI system, BIMCO will send the user an email if any login activity is different to the usual login location for a user.

In the future, “My Ships” will have a KPI standard version tag providing an overview for the users on which version of the system the quarterly report was produced under. This function also gives an overview of past and future changes and versions in the KPI standard.

The relaunch event on 26 February will be held in Limassol, Cyprus and the event is free, but you will need to register to guarantee a place.

VPS Bunker Alerts

Veritas Petroleum Services (VPS) publish regular Bunker Alerts based entirely on fuel samples and have kindly permitted BIMCO’s Members to access this information.

The Bunker Alerts are not intended to be an evaluation of overall bunker quality in the port or area concerned, but usually highlight a specific parameter within the fuel which has raised a quality issue.
