Maritime Labour Convention, 2006 update
Overview
BIMCO provides an update on the Maritime Labour Convention, 2006 (MLC, 2006), taking into account of the recent fourth meeting that was held by the MLC's Special Tripartite Committee in April this year.
The BIMCO Maritime Information department maintains a section on the MLC, 2006. To enable members to get a quick overview of the convention, BIMCO provides a summary with all the relevant links provided in our section for easy access. This section has been updated to take into account of the outcome of the recent fourth meeting that was held in April 2021 by the Special Tripartite Committee of the MLC. This meeting was held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation. The second part of the meeting has been tentatively planned, subject to approval by the Governing Body, to be held at the International Labour Organisation's headquarters in Geneva, from 25 -29 April 2022.
