The International Maritime Organization (IMO) recently issued circular letter No. 3780 advising the shipping industry on the plague outbreak in Madagascar. The IMO's advice was based on information provided by the World Health Organization (WHO) which stated that there was no justification to impose travel or trade restrictions at this stage.
