If you missed the “SHIPTERM” webinar on 27 January don’t worry, the recording of the webinar is now available for viewing.
The webinar features a panel of four representatives of the subcommittee that developed the term sheet for bilateral ship financing transactions:
- Francis Sarre, CMB (chairperson of the subcommittee)
- Klaus Vilstrup, Dampskibsselskabet NORDEN A/S
- Matt Hannaford, Hannaford Turner LLP
- Peter Willems, HSBC
During the one-hour webinar the panelists introduce the term sheet, its background and content. The panel discussion focuses, amongst other issues, on:
- the indicative/non-binding nature of the term sheet
- the set-up and level of detail
- financial covenants and notably the security maintenance covenant
- the governing law and jurisdiction and
- the base rate and how this is addressed in cases where it is negative.
The webinar will be followed up by a series of seminars in Europe, the Middle East and Asia to inform about the term sheet. More information on these webinars will be made available soon on the BIMCO website.
