BIMCO’s regional manager for Asia, Wei Zhuang, will chair the seminar.

China recently unveiled a new regulation called “Measures for Security Assessment for Outbound Data Transfer” which is aimed at tightening up its data regulation. According to the measures, a data handler is not only obliged to conduct a self-assessment but also a security assessment conducted by the Chinese cyberspace administrative on the risk of the outbound data transfer. Many international shipping companies, owners, managers, flag states and P&I clubs must self-assess their huge data process when dealing with huge cargo data, ship’s AIS data and emission data, seafarers’ personal data. The seminar is to address how to arrange the so-called “self-assessment” and how to apply the administrative security assessment for data compliance purposes.

The event is for BIMCO members only.
