Description
Fine, white, transparent grains. Highly soluble in water. Moisture content: varies up to 5.5%, If water ingress into cargo holds occurs, there runs the risk of loss of ship's stability through dissolution of this cargo (formation of a wet base and shifting of cargo). Bulk density: 893-1,235 kg/m3. Non-IMSBC Code information: Salt is obtained from sea water (about 3 % concentration) through the process of evaporation or from deposits found in many countries. Used in chemical manufacture (e.g., sodium hydroxide, soda ash, chlorine, metallic sodium), ceramic glazes, metallurgy, food preservative and seasoning, mineral waters, medicine, photography etc.

Common salt, sodium chloride, table salt, sea salt, halite, saline, white crystal, dendritis, top flake, extra fine 200 salt, extra fine 325 salt, h.g blending, natrium chorid (german), purex, sterling.
