    BIMCO continues to receive enquiries on UN 3077 solid bulk cargoes and how they should be handled under the International Maritime Solid Bulk Cargoes ( IMSBC) Code. BIMCO provides an explanation including an interpretation on how these cargoes are viewed in the IMSBC Code.

    BIMCO continues to receive enquiries about mill scale, in particular, on how this solid bulk cargo is classified and how it should be carried under the requirements of the International Maritime Solid Bulk Cargoes ( IMSBC) Code.  This article explains what is mill scale, its properties and characteristics and how its carriage requirements under the IMSBC Code have changed over the years and informs members of the present mandatory carriage requirements for this cargo under the IMSBC Code.  

  • Wood Pulp and Pulp Wood

    BIMCO has received some enquiries relating to two cargoes:  wood pulp and pulp wood in particular on their differences as well as whether fixed CO2 fittings were required on ships to carry these cargoes.
