IMO adopts important steps towards decarbonisation

MEPC held this week, adopted a new initial IMO strategy of GHG emissions of ships, which will pave the way for decarburization.

IMO may approve prohibition on the carriage of non-compliant fuel oil in 2020

The International Maritime Organization (IMO) Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC 72) will meet next week, where a prohibition on the carriage of non-compliant fuel oil with a sulphur content exceeding 0.50% is on the agenda.

Australia issues interim arrangements for bauxite cargoes shipped in bulk

Following the IMO revised circular (CCC.1/circ.2/Rev.1 dated 20 September 2017) on bauxite , Australia will now allow for the new testing procedure and schedules for bauxite to be applied for all bauxite cargoes in bulk shipped from Australia.
