The White Paper explores Safety Culture via interviews of national investigators and seafarers, as well as discussions with maritime stakeholders such as shipping companies, NGOs and regulators. Further, the paper stresses the importance of a Safety Learning Culture and proposes ten good practices to enhance Safety Learning. Finally, the paper presents several maritime use cases showing Safety Learning in practice within the shipping industry today.
Participants will gain an overview of key safety reporting and learning practices in the shipping industry and proposed Safety Learning approaches. Following the presentation, the panellists will discuss the issue of Safety Culture and Learning Culture in shipping, including its possibilities and limitations.
