BIMCO is pleased to anounce the start of a new 'Piracy Reports' web service to be found under the Security heading. This is the latest security information service offered by BIMCO and a proactive effort to assist members deal with the ever growing problem of piracy. Incidents will be listed courtesy of the IMB PRC with whom BIMCO is in close liaison and working hard to lobby and encourage governments and navies to assist in deterring and preventing piracy at sea.

The aim is to provide on one web site all port and risk information to assist member CSOs, Operations Departments and Masters, plan voyages and changes with the latest piracy information.

Pages are updated on a daily basis and will show the latest incidents by date and type against Ports and Sea Areas (as listed). These will remain for a period of three months so that members have a continually evolving and up to date picture of the threat.

BIMCO continues to encourage members to report all actual incidents and to take preventative actions as advised in high risk areas.
